  • Outdoor facilities at our door include groomed skating rink on the lake, heated ice fishing hut, and cross country ski trails when the lake is frozen.
  • Multitude of Snowmobile Trails, both local and Trans Ontario Provincial. We are located on Algonquin Snowmobile Club Trail 77 on the North shore of Peninsula Lake. Trans Ontario Provicial trail, C114, is right across the lake.

  • Walks and Talks with Spirit: Discover the Beauty of the Wilderness and the Spirit of the Native Ways at the end of Limberlost Road on a 2 to 4 hour guided snow shoeing adventure. www.timyearington.com
  • Cross Country Skiing at Arrowhead Provincial Park, Algonquin Provincial Park, Leslie M. Frost Centre, Grassmere, Deerhurst and Grandview. Rentals are available at Algonquin Outfitters.
  • The local Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding facility is Hidden Valley Highlands. They have 3 chairlifts (1 quad), 1 handle bar tow and 11 slopes. Night skiing Thursday to Saturday. Full line of rentals & lessons – 1-800-398-9555. Discounted lift tickets may be purchased at our resort.
  • Local Winter Carnivals (visit the Dorset Snowball) start the last weekend of January and will continue throughout February.
  • Sometime in March, locals will have tours showing how sap is collected and made into Maple Syrup.
  • Dog sledding at North Ridge Ranch
